Welcome to FCCJC, the foremost cheerleading program in Johnson County. The purpose of our program is to give youth a practical cheerleading experience and provide cheerleaders for fall football games September through mid-November. The Shawnee Mission and Olathe areas may also cheer for basketball, December through February.
LOCATION
- Football games are played at the Heritage Park Football Complex, 16240 Pflumm, Olathe.
- Basketball games are generally played in Johnson County school district facilities.
- Practice locations for cheer squads are arranged by the coach.
SQUAD FORMATION
- Squads are formed by high school area and grade. Cheerleaders will participate with others from their same high school.
- Occasionally it will be necessary for area directors to make a placement up or down a grade or with another school. This is only done when a squad doesn’t have a minimum of 5 or is an overly large squad.
COACHING
- The success of our program depends on quality adult leadership and participation. We thrive on the support and involvement of parents whose children take part in the program.
- Coaches, assistant coaches and youth squad assistants are always needed. NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!
- If you are willing to share your enthusiasm and time with a squad, please let the area director know by phone or at registration.

REGISTRATION
- Individuals new to the club should attend a registration meeting in your high school area. Click here to find the correct registration date and location.
- Parent or guardian must accompany child at registration to read and complete appropriate paperwork.
- Late registrations may be accepted depending on availability and at the discretion of the area director. A $20 late fee may be applicable.
UNIFORMS
- New or used uniforms must be purchased.
- The club makes every effort to offer uniforms that are comfortable, durable, age appropriate and a good value for your dollar.
- Each High School area has a uniform unique to their school.
- Styles do not change often so uniforms can be worn multiple years and sold to be reused by another cheerleader.
- Cheerleaders also need a specialty shoe. Shoes will be bought as a squad so everyone has the same style.
- Additional accessories will also be required. Details on these accessories will be provided at a registration and the squad’s parent meeting.
FUNDRAISING
- FCCJC provides several fundraising options to pay fees.
- Each paid registrant will receive raffle tickets for the full value of the registration. Selling the raffle tickets will allow you to recoup the full cost of registration.
- Each area also has a fundraiser to help offset costs. All funds raised can be used for any cheerleading expense.
JEN DEFRANCO SCHOLARSHIP
Sometimes we meet someone special! Their smile captures your heart! That was Jennifer DeFranco, she was 15 years old when she passed in a fatal car accident in April of 1998. She was special, she touch many lives with her outgoing personality and she was always happy. Cheerleading was a big part of her life. Jen was a “flyer” and loved to be on top of the pyramid. This scholarship was established by her former teammates to assist a girl who would like to participate in cheerleading. Click here for a scholarship application. Application deadline is March 31, 2010.
